Playing The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure is a natural progression from Trails from Zero as it features practically the same battle system, party growth mechanics, and sense of exploration. □ The familiar battle system adds a couple nifty elements Battle system tweaks Nevertheless, it's still comforting and rewarding work and getting to know the citizens more is always a treat. I must admit that although I enjoyed this aspect in the first game, it felt a bit tiresome to go through the motions yet again in this sequel most likely because I played the previous game just a handful of months ago. Once you conclude the prologue and dive into the main events of The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure, you'll be immediately familiar with Crossbell City and its layout as well as the detective portion of the gameplay where you trek from point A to point B in order to resolve various quests before moving the story along. Regardless, if you haven't played Trails from Zero then I highly recommend doing so first as this game is a direct sequel even though it does have a comprehensive summary of events for those who need to brush up before beginning the adventure. I'd say the folks who will enjoy this most are those who played Trails from Zero but haven't yet checked out the Trails of Cold Steel games as they'll get the most out of the storyline, especially when they reach the Divertissement chapter of Trails of Cold Steel II. Needless to say, if you enjoy this series and you already played the previous game then this sequel is a must-play as it wraps up a lot of the story as well as sets the stage for Trails of Cold Steel.
